From the same company nonetheless. But for some reason it doesn't really bother me.

What game is that O-din?

#3 3 months ago

Looks like it is from the era of "smoking cigarettes is good for your libido."

#4 3 months ago

Hmmm. I always thought that was comet.

Thought this was going to be a Pinstadium thread.

Quoted from tilted81:

You may well be correct as I think O-din has one he's working on now.

#7 3 months ago

1957 Williams Arrowhead and 1985 Williams Comet. O-din has both.

#8 3 months ago

Looks like someone didn't get the memo.

#9 3 months ago

To be fair one says "1" and 1 says "one".

#10 3 months ago

The fact that Harry Williams hasn't responded to this thread shows just how little he cares about his products.

I did a little internet detecting and found out Harry may not even be his real name! How shady is that! Care to explain yourself Harold Williams? I didn't think so!

Nice! Sam Stern might have something to do with this cover up too.

Someone can link these two games if you like. I lost that privilege years ago.

#12 3 months ago

From o-din, I figured this would be a beef thread about things like the miracle bra, all you can eat buffet or something.

I'm disappointed in you brother.

There's a sign over at the Coney Island Wonder Wheel claiming it's the largest Ferris wheel in the world.

I've learned not to let stuff like this keep me up at night.

#15 3 months ago

Believe me Levi, this isn't what was keeping me up last night.

ahem.....

#17 3 months ago

And truth be told Levi, when that Wonder Wheel sign went up, it probably was the largest ferris wheel in the world.

Not the case with Comet's million point shot. Heck, Comet does't even have a ferris wheel.

#18 3 months ago
Quoted from o-din:

Comet does't even have a ferris wheel

But Williams made up for it by putting 2 on Hurricane. That way you can check your text messages during gameplay. Little did they know...

#19 3 months ago

Technically the Wonder Wheel is an eccentric wheel and not a traditional ferris wheel because the carts slide around. It could be the tallest one of those

There is a similar one at Disney's Ca. Adventure. I'm feeling too lazy to google if it is as tall. Never been on it though.

#21 3 months ago

I hit the gazillion point shot in Dr Dude and did not get a gazillion points. Thanks, Dr Dud.

#22 3 months ago

Following. I have no idea where this thread will end up going. But I am on board for the ride.

#23 3 months ago

Odin, you have to get away from Pinside once and a while and go old school

Pinside might say "First Million Shot", but IPDB includes the "Solid State" caveat -

"Comet was the first solid-state machine to feature a one million point shot, using Steve Kordek's voice to announce "One Million!".

Always thought a padded bra qualified as false advertising. That might be off topic.

Makes me think about the scene from Animal House with his hands full of toilet paper.

I wonder if you can even get the un-cut classic movies anymore. Imagine the heads exploding these days if the original Blazing Saddles was shown in public. (how's that for the continued derailment)

Enjoy it wHile you can, how long can they leave in the whole molesting a 13 year old in there?

Rape, murder, arson, and rape
You said rape twice
I like rape.

Yeah, that wouldn’t fly these days. Great movie nonetheless

Why do people ALWAYS say this about blazing saddles?

I saw it “in public” two years ago. If you consider in front of 2,500 people at radio city in progressive NYC “in public.” There were no protests nor did any of us get in trouble on Facebook when we posted about being there. Heads did not “explode,” except in laughter.

Blazing saddles is not racist, it’s funny. It never was racist. Most people understand this.

Yes the language is extremely offensive, but the entire point of the movie is that the people using that language and espousing those views are absolute morons. And, in the end most see the error of their ways.

The movie isn’t funny because it’s 2 hours of “the N word,” and if that’s why you like it you are completely missing point.

Moral of the story: nobody is going to upset with you for laughing at Blazing Saddles, it’s not banned, and the fact that all that is true doesn’t mean we should encouraged to use similar language out of context and in our daily 2019 life.

Actually after the Angle / Devil argument he didn't do anything. It was a later scene when she lets him know she is underage and introduces him to her father.

The later seen they have sex, and she introduces him to her father as "the boy that molested me."

There’s a big difference between casually using racist language in 2019 on the street and watching and enjoying a 40-year old movie that is hilarious and also anti-racist. You can still do one and not the other.
Moral of the story: nobody is going to upset with you for laughing at Blazing Saddles, it’s not banned, and the fact that it’s good doesn’t excuse being “politically incorrect” in your daily 2019 life.

Because you couldn't make that movie or most of Mel Brooks comedy these days. If you see it on TV or buy (most) versions these days they are edited. Heck, they edit Radios for Guns in E.T.

You are correct. Mel was a master of using words to shock but not be insulting.

"They" didn't do that, Spielburger did

You probably couldn’t make it today...but it’s not being scrubbed from history.

Mel was at the screening I attended, it was amazing.

Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, George Burns, Milton Berle, and a couple other great comedians met and played bridge most days in the card room at Hillcrest Country Club. My friends ran security. I wanted to bug the card room and make a movie using their dialogue. Unfortunately common decency got in the way as I knew it was wrong. Funny that Hillcrest became a non smoking club and made a rule you had to be 90 plus to smoke and built a ventilation system over George Burns seat so he could smoke.

I spent years looking for History of the World part 2 at video stores. Some guy at my high school swore to me that there was a History of the World part 2 and that he saw it. Turns out he was full of shit.

Bravo. We just saw it in March, in a public theater in Florida, with a group that included two people who had (somehow) never seen it before. They LMAO'd.

"Excuse Me while I Whip this Out" ,, " Hey Boys..., 'Where are all the White Women' ". Saw that movie when I was 10 or 11, found it to be the funniest movie ever, next to Young Frankenstein. It took until to Animal House see another funny movie that was on a similar level.
