Item description

Seeing as I had a couple people add items to my first auction after it ended, I've decided to run one more. For those who didn't see the first one, here's the link.

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/fa-ugliest-set-of-pinfoots-ever-made

As with the first auction, all proceeds go to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) in the name of my 5 year old grandson, Gordon, who was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 15 months old. After seeing him deal with this for basically his whole life, I vote him my hero and toughest little kid I know!

This is where your money will go.

http://www2.jdrf.org/goto/TeamG

AUCTION ENDS THIS FRIDAY, THE 28TH, AT 9:00 PM CENTRAL TIME!!

Starting off this auction, I'm donating a Whoa Nellie playfield from the second run Dennis and Greg made. This was back in 2012. I have no idea how many of these were made but I don't think I've ever seen one come up for sale. This one is in perfect condition. It's also interesting to compare this one to the one that went into the Stern gameS. Quite a few minor "assets" were removed by Stern.

Also added is an LED version display from the color DMD folks. Thanks to Randy and Chris!

If anyone wants to add any donations, you can PM me or simply add it to this thread and I'll keep this first post updated.

Edit: New list of items.

1. Whoa Nellie NOS playfield.
2. Color DMD LED version display
3. Your choice of 4 new flipper coils from the lovely and talented Andrew Barney.
4. One set of Pinstadium Lights...your choice of game.
5. Uncut set of prototype Alice Cooper plastics.
6. An interactive light kit from Rock Custom Pinball.
7. A set of show chrome pinball legs and bolts from Pinball Plating.
8. WOZ, Hobbit and DI printed manuals from Kingpin Games.

LOL I actually did, Brad, and he's not.

You also have to put up with Gordon pics. Here's one of my favorites. This was our second JDRF One Walk experience . Gordon was a little better than 3. Thankfully, 3 year olds are allowed to have insulin pumps.

If okay with Bryan I'd like to contribute a couple things.

A Bryan Kelly original artsy fartsy pinball ball in a solid wood block from too many years ago. Bryan discontinued them because of the high scrap rate putting the ball into the wood block. And a silver medallion from 1986 celebrating the Minnesota Twins 25th anniversary. The medallion is about 1 1/4 inch across.

I would like to donate a 'nearly' complete set of Cliffy's protectors, it includes all the game-specific protectors but missing the right-hand shooter lane and rail protector. If I find them before the auction ends, they'll be included.

Here are daddy and Gordon at a Twins game. Did you know there are no carb counts for any food that gets prepared at Target field? Justin has gotten real good at "winging" it when going to restaurants and the like.

This has always been one of my favorite pics. This was the morning after Gordon was diagnosed. Justin held him the entire evening and into the following morning. The only time he would give him up was if the nurses had to check something.

I would be glad to donate again for such a great cause. The winner can choose a shooter of any size or a custom PinCup for any game. If someone wants a custom PinCup , perhaps something personal or a gameroom name , I can make anything.

Here's your daily dose of Gordon pics. After gramps washed his truck, Gordon decided his needed it too.

You can see he likes to wear his Dexcom transmitter on the back of his arm. This needs to be changed every 10 days. His old one was every 7 days. This new one is also less painful to install and also a smaller design. When he was younger, this is the part of having diabetes he hated the most. Install was never fun or easy. When changed, it also needs to be mounted in a new location as the tape holding it in place will irritate his skin.

The skin irritation is most noticeable with the pump injection sites. Those have to be moved every two days. He can sometimes look like a pincushion.

Now that's a tough kid.

#47 5 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

Now that's a tough kid.

The finger pricks for testing aren't even felt. The needle on the pump sets is relatively small and isn't bad at all. The needle on the Dexcom is a bit bigger and is the most painful. Imagine being 2 years old and having to have that stuck in you once a week. Back then, there were times Gordon literally had to be held down during the process.

At 5, he's so much more matured. He takes most of this all in stride now.

With all the great stuff on this list, you could practically bid more than 2300, sell off all the stuff and come out ahead.

I couldn't agree more! And as I said in the first auction, you'll be getting 12 packages from all over the country. It'll be like Christmas in September!

Don't forget, auction ends tomorrow night at 9 Central Time.

I sent my donation out yesterday to the last winner.
