FA - HUGE JDRF Charity Auction!!!!!!!!!!!

    Added: September 20th, 2018 Ended: October 10th, 2018
    Condition: New

    Item description

Yes, these things are ugly and also the very last set I'll ever make. These will be sprayed with clear lacquer which will bring out the richness and ugliness that these deserve.

Yes, this is an auction. Don't like it, tough shit! Auction ends this coming Sunday at 9:00 PM central time. You can either post your price here or PM me. I'll keep the price updated until the end. Shipping is on me.

Now the best part....all proceeds go to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) in the name of my 5 year old grandson, Gordon, who was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 15 months old. After seeing him deal with this for basically his whole life, I vote him my hero and toughest little kid I know!

This is where your money will go.

Here's a pic of Gordon showing his insulin pump and Dexcom glucose monitoring transmitter. All of this is attached somewhere on his body damn near all day, every single day. He started kindergarten this year and I think he's the only 5 year old in school with a cell phone. There's a Dexcom ap on his phone that allows the teacher and school nurse to monitor his glucose levels throughout the day.

If you were to ask me who my all time hero was, it would be this little guy. Toughest damn kid I know!

Great cause! To make j_m_ look like the clown he is...$105 is bid.

    #13 2 years ago

I think you should break up the set and sell them individually - 4x the donation. More of us can own a piece of history.

SHIT! I wish I would have thought of that. I don't see anyway I can turn back now.

Edit the auction description to high bid gets choice, 2nd high bid gets 2nd choice. Etc. Etc.

I don't think anyone here will complain.

I bid $50 to choose the one with a bite out of it.

Nah. I'll just leave it like it is. If whoever wins these wants to do something with them, that's cool.

    #17 2 years ago

I've also posted this on my Facebook page, so everyone has a little more competition.

    Current bid, $122.22.

Do these come with a certificate of authenticity? Similar to a Gary Stern signature?

I once got Gary Stern's autograph.

Lies; that's clearly Gay Stern... a completely different dude.

    #21 2 years ago

Bryan is a good friend and this is a good cause so to the highest bidder I’d like to add a brand new Stern Pinball Translite.

I’ll see what I have available when I get home later tonight and post a picture as well.

    #22 2 years ago

Son of a! This is gonna coast me way more now!

I can't thank you enough, Jason!! I know people can't give to every charity that comes around, but hopefully they can pick one that hits close to home. Diabetes happens to be that one for us.

    Thank you again!!

    #27 2 years ago

    Dang it! I fold!
Congrats to the winner and Bryan!
Just great old dude all around!

    #28 2 years ago

It will be a very good translite, no BS.
I’m at a Judas Priest-Deep Purple concert tonight in Red Wing so I’ll post an update in the morning. \m/

    #33 2 years ago

I did not even know Judas Priest still played!
    Now your old!
I second the notion of GK not looking like Bryan!

    #34 2 years ago

I just got off the phone with a very good friend of mine. He and another friend want to combine resources and they asked me to bid on their behalf.

    $230.

BTW, Gordon and his brother Teddy, love In N Out.

I think when this auction ends we should reuse this thread and auction off something else. Sounds like we have a lot of kind hearted folks that would be willing to raise some money for a good cause.

    #38 2 years ago

    Pm sent

    #39 2 years ago

I've had a couple of people ask me about simply donating. My son's team is Team G and the direct link to give is http://www2.jdrf.org/goto/TeamG.

If it's easier, you can PM me for my Paypal account and pay that way. I'll then donate to the team on your behalf.

Speaking of Team G, here's a pic from last years JDRF One Walk fundraiser.

Not only has Jason agreed to throw in some kind of a Stern translite, but Jack Guarnieri with JJP Pinball has agreed to thrown in a signed Dialed In translite. So you are now bidding on:

Ugliest and last set of Pinfoots ever to be made.
    Some kind of Stern translite.
A signed Dialed In translite from JJP.

    KICK ASS!!

    #43 2 years ago

Awesome cause. My wife’s cousin died of Juvenile diabetes when she was 15. Her father started opening clinics in her name in Paraguay and dedicates 6 month of his life every year building them. Hes pushing 70 now and still building away. We use our evebyrs to raise funds for the clinics often.

Where we at on this one? 280$ raise the roof?

    #44 2 years ago

I will throw in a tshirt from my store with former Stanley Cup winner and Detroit Redwing Darren McCarty's autograph

    #45 2 years ago

Being a T1 diabetic myself, it really warms my heart to see the generosity of people for causes like this. Just wonderful

It won’t be long and there will be a cure for this disease. Every dollar raised is a step closer.
    Thank you people!!!!

    what the heck, $300
hell, if I had any more clocks, I'd throw one into the donation pool just to see how high we could get this auction

    #49 2 years ago

While dealing with diabetes is so much easier today than it's ever been, the life expectancy of a type 1 diabetic is 12 years, on average, less than you and I.

Think about that. 12 f'ing years!

    #50 2 years ago

    I'm in $350
