Considering trading my F14 for a Cyclone but I have never played Cyclone before. Both are about equal value all things considered and I will go play it before deciding but just wanted opionions first. I love F14 but just don't seem to play it much anymore as I've owned it for about 4 years and played it to death. I'm a little concerned about no multiball. Is Cyclone more of a stop and go, or a flow game? I love the Steve Ritchie flow but I do have a Getaway for that sort of action. So, would you make that trade or hold out for something else?

I'd personally hold out. There used to be an F-14 and Cyclone next to each other locally. I loved the fast paced action of F-14 but understand how you could get tired of it. However, on the flip side, I never got into the groove of Cyclone. It has some cool gimmicks, but overall the game gets so boring.

To each their own, but I'd wait for something better.

I have owned both,I actually posted in another thread how much I wish they would do a cyclone remake with multiball.Being an operator I will say cyclone is a crowd pleaser,I have mine in a pizza location(Newbies and familys love it!).For home use playability I think I would hold onto the f14 though.

In the same shape a Cyclone is probably worth a few hundred more, or 500-1000 more if condition is REALLY nice.

I'd probably make the trade. F14s are a dime a dozen. Cyclones are more like a quarter a dozen. Neither is really tough to find and both tend to be beat up from location play.

Thanks for the responses guys. Like I said, based on condition I think the trade is even monetarily, it's just the gameplay I'm considering at this point. While both are typically shallow being system 11s, F14 has always been that "one more game " sort of pin. Wondering if Cyclone has that same feel or has previous owners tired of it relatively quickly in a small lineup? Again, no multiball worries me. I realize no one can tell me if I will like it or not but just getting a feel here. Trying to make up my mind if it's worth going to try it as it is a bit of a drive.

My buddy owns the original Cyclone we played as teens. It's his only pin and he will never let it go. I had the pleasure of holding on to it for a year after repairing it. It's a great game even without multiball. I got bored of F-14's repetiveness so I traded it....after a while all it seems to consist of is getting multiball over and over.

Cyclone is really fun but the jackpot is kind of stupid. If you really want to destroy it you need to let some shitty players on it for a couple days to build up the jackpot.

So it's a progressive jackpot? Not sure I'm loving that idea.

Progressive and carry over game to game. This was a big concept in the first few years of Jackpot Pinball.

Cyclone is a better over all package, great sound and art and fun ramps and great gimmicks with the Ferris Wheel and backbox spinner. Great family friendly fun.

F-14 is a better player.

Thanks Levi, I think I'll at least go check it out, play a few games and see what I think.
