Flashers work great and you do not have to remove the warming resistors IF you leave incandescent in the backboard of the PF to load down the circuit.
Here is my F-14 in attract mode. Sometime when I get the chance I'll take a vid out with it in OMFGMYEYES when it goes into multiball.

Here is my topper... Well, actually ceiling-hanger... The machine already has a topper. I need to do some repair to the landing gear, I was doing some ceiling work and snapped the mono-filament...
When a target is leaning one way or the other or just mildly out of line it is usually because one of the two rivets on the underside that holds it vertical, have popped out.
When that happens you get this...
Here is what my F-14 looks like with full LED's.
All playfield and most backglass flashers are converted to LED. The backboard flashers are still incandescent so I do not have to remove warming resistors.
All condom'd bulbs removed and color matched to Frosted LED.
I'll update the vid eventually as I have also replaced the flipper rubbers with Super Bands (red on left, blue on right) as well as finished the red on the left, blue on the right GI lighting (AKA: Transformer Style)

Only if you leave the warming resistors in. If you disable them then you can fully LED your flashers. There are many thread on this so I won't go into it.
Seems clean is not enough. Strip that topside a bit and do a real good cleaning and waxing.
