Quoted from jdzwir123:
The whole row isn't working at this point. The right flipper still flips though.
"right flipper EOS" doesn't control the flipper. It is a switch matrix switch stacked on the hv eos switch. It is used to enter initials and it also triggers some of the lighting effects when the ball hasn't been launched yet.
Quoted from TomDK:
This will be the motor I have, so you are a lucky guy. I had no luck with this motor. So it seems there is a 50:50 chance that it works
few things to check: Did you replace the nyliners on the outside beacons? Is the washer on top of the middle pulley stack to prevent the pulley from contacting the mounting plate? Are the rotating arms binding low or contacting the lamp arm?

As you can tell I am missing something!
Looking for this if any of you folks here might have one laying around somewhere. Please pm me. As for my
F-14 check out F-14 resto it's going slowly as it's my first. But a great game!!!!!
Once it's finished :wall:lol!
Best photo I have on my phone. There are metal standoffs/sleeves and long screws mounting the motor. The screws thread up into the plate. 3 on the original, only 2 on the replacement motors from Marco.
You're missing 2 pulleys on the motor. Put a metal washer between the top pulley and plate before mounting. The belts need to go thru the mount points so put them loosely on the center pulleys before mounting.

Anyone know what TOP SECRET: Multi-Ball Special at bottom means?
During multiball you have to hit EACH tomcat target, all six upper and all six lower (they no longer count both upper/lower letters with one hit) and that will light the outlane for special.
Quoted from Averell:
Not sure, I think if all balls during released multi-ball were landed again... you will get free play?
3 landings earns you a jackpot, multiple jackpots can be earned during the same multiball. Once landed, the balls feed to the kickouts and are released back into play.
Quoted from StylesBitchly:
Alert the media!
I finally landed all three balls! Almost in a row too!
I have my machine set for three ball but, set to get extra balls rather than extra games. It awards an extra ball at 1,700,000. This mode also skips that annoying game match sequence at end of game so you can quickly start a new game after you get boned. I really like this setting the best!
Nice shot, ramrod.
Credits needed? With no credits, the game makes a weird noise like a jet engine trying to start (I think) when you hit the start button.
Quoted from C0untDeM0net:
I got it all back together and have been playing some games. It's a ton of fun for sure. Very fast and smooth with the playfield protector on. I have run into an issue. Before moving it there were no errors on power up. I stuck some moving men under the feet and moved it into place next to my other pin and when I power it on I get two errors with the knockers now. The game plays fine as far as I can tell. Can anyone tell me what these errors are? The bottom left display is dead. Hopefully there is no needed info there.
Thanks. Can't believe it's erroring after I moved it 20 feet.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
You will get switch errors when the game doesn't see those switches working in X number of games. Moving the machine had nothing to do with it, they probably haven't been working for a while. Inspect the switches mentioned, because the sling and eos should have plenty of hits during game play. Run thru the switch test and see what those switches are doing.
Quoted from bobukcat:
I think those are just telling you those two switches haven't been triggered in a while, probably nothing to do with the move at all. Just go into switch tests and hit those two switches and you'll probably see they aren't working properly, probably easy fixes on both especially compared to all the work you've already done.
Beat me by 14 seconds!
Quoted from Krupps4:
I’m far from an experienced restorer of pins, so does anyone have any suggestions for how to best restore the sides of the back box? You can see the sides of the cabinet are pretty clean. Are there stencils available? Decals? Thanks for any suggestions.[quoted image][quoted image]
Spread your other two machines at least 30" apart, put f14 in the gap and push it into the lineup.
Quoted from FLASHBALL:
Been working on an F14 for a friend of mine. Almost everything seems to be back to its normal operation. I just cant figure out why flasher #5 wont flash. All flashers except #5 work in solenoid test. Bulbs have been tested in other sockets and are working. I guess I need to break out the multimeter.
Where would you check first?
The big resistors mounted on the small boards under the playfield.
Quoted from AudioHaven:
Diagnostic help wanted for my brother in law.
Issue: upper flipper is rapidly chattering (machine gunning?) when pressing the flipper button. Once you let go, it stops moving. The bottom flipper tied to the same flipper button works normally.
Any troubleshooting tips would be appreciated!
Broken wire on the hold winding (smaller gauge wire) of the upper flipper coil. You can usually see the small wire broken were it attaches to the solder lug. Take the broken wire and unwrap one turn off the coil and solder it back to the lug. You will have to sand the varnish off of the wire where you need to solder.
