Are the upgraded light boards still available anywhere for the 2 long strips of blue and red lights that change them to 555's instead of the 44 sockets?
Starting a playfield swap and would like to do that upgrade

Playfield swap coming along nicely.

Installed some double ring post at the top to stop getting balls jammed under the 1 ring.

Buthamburgh playfield looks amazing, Reese Rails, CPR Plastics and have the Mirrored back glass, clear Freeplay40 ramp and Comet 2smd Warm White and some color in the inserts.

Can't wait to get my butt kicked by it when it's done.

Quoted from Averell:

Take care, behind the rubbers theres a gate missing.
This is needed to prevent that balls get stucked under the plastic and break it!
[quoted image]
This is how it should look like original... left you see the reinstalled early/prototype flashers.

Mine didn't come with that wire, I would get balls stuck under the Single ring when I first got it. I threw a second ring on it the way your pic looks and that solved the problem. Now we installed proper double ring post so it should be fine.

Almost there just have a original sound issue to fix and install the CPR Mirrored backglass to call this one done. I'm not restoring the cabinet or the Tax stickers it has nostalgia to us. This F14 was my first pin now it will look and play great for years.

Quoted from pinballfan:

hello, new cpr translite is better to look than original?

Here is the new CPR mirrored backglass on the left and original translite on the right. The new one is darker, I'm going to try a few Comet led Strips and see if it comes out a little brighter

Quoted from pinballfan:

hello whats the best for g.i....comet 2SMD Bulbs cool white(natural) or sunlight, warm white?frosted?how many bulb i need? thanks!

I went with Comet 2SMD Warm white for the GI and Sunlight for the most of inserts. I used Ice Blue for the blue inserts I think that has a better tone than regular blue also.

Quoted from pinballfan:

the cpr backglass give a better look than original translite? it look draker on picture.

I bought it, it's definitely darker IDK if it's better than the original translite. My translite was in great condition and I thought it was going to be better buts it's super dark, I plan on ordering some martix strips at some point and adding them but I still haven't done it have it full of Comet 2smd Sunlights now. My mirroring isn't good either when it's off it's fine when you turn it on it's full specs you can see through I'm bother asking CPR if that was normal or whatever I'll keep it. I got 2 when they went on sale for Christmas got one for my Totan also and don't think I'll buy another one unless my original translite is really a mess. I'll look for some pics and post it

#4563 3 years ago

You see in normal like the mirroring looks fine but when it's on you see all the specs through it. Probably not normal but not bad enough for me to bother sending it back I'll keep that way. The quality of the glass is good very thick. If you get one just plan on adding some additional strips of light or something.
