Oh boy. So I just picked up an F14 and it's in a much worse place than I originally thought. So I found a bag of coils with green and yellow sleeves that have all been taken off of the game at some point as evidenced by solder left on the lugs. The CPU is completely shot and there's a highly likely chance that +50v was shorted and trashed the logic. With this in mind, combined with the coin box full of old coils, I'm fairly certain that the previous owner wires something incorrectly. Would someone be kind enough to compare the wiring on my coils to theirs?
Also, what else could cause a short like this to blow out an entire MPU? What do I need to look for to ensure this doesn't happen again?
The photos, in order represent:
L flipper
R flipper
L sling
R sling
LU flipper
RU flipper
R kicker (where ball goes after plunge)
L kicker (see above desc)
Would anyone happen to have a list of the caps on the sound board? I lost all of my sound and I'm going to attempt to re-cap it to see if that fixes it.
Thanks!
