Just finished up reinstalling the red flashers on the upper part of the playfield, light show is back to the way it should be. F-14 light show is so good. Nice and bright with new LED flashers.

Quoted from MustangPaul:

How do the LED flashers work with the game?

The flashers work great, but you do have to remove the warming circuit resistors to make them work properly. Otherwise you will have partially lit flashers all of the time. There was a service bulletin that removed the two red flashers in the upper part of the playfield. Those are the two that I reinstalled and wired it back to original form.

Quoted from MustangPaul:

That's what I thought. I have the same early model and have to make some time to add those 2 flashers. Thanks

Basically you are just going to reverse what the service bulletin had operators do back in the day. I was lucky that the wires that were removed were long enough below the playfield to just solder them back on the new light sockets. Before I knew there was a service bulletin to change the lights I started pulling my hair out trying to figure out why one of the flashers was not working when it was supposed to in the solenoid test.

Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

Yes, my entire game is LED. The flashers in the backbox look good, I'm even thinking about trying colored flashers back there, yellow or orange, to enhance the "explosion" effect.

I installed 2 red and 2 yellow flashers in the backbox to make the explosion pop, it really looks good!

I just found that early F-14's like mine have white flasher domes on the back of the playfield. Newer ones were changed to red. Anyone every seen both in action and have a favorite? Thinking of doing mine in red/white/blue.

If anyone is looking for a set of plastics for F-14, I bought one a couple years ago before I sold my game.
