Do you think that the old resistor pack was cracked in the middle before you removed it?

Its installed in the machine and has fixed the gameplay issue.
Thank you all very much. I would have never been able to fix this problem without your help.
Its forums like this that make the internet a tool that shares knowledge in an interactive way that nothing else comes close to.

Not sure, but it is very brittle.

I snipped it off. I was told the old part has capacitors in it and the tenth pin is a ground to reduce noise.

The new part has no capacitors in it and the ground is not needed.
