The right upper flipper broke mechanically and electicly.

    It was machine gun flipping.
    Then it was working fine
    Then it was dead.
I pushed it with my hand and it stuck up.
Then I pushed it down and the linkage broke like butter.
The broken flipper coil was very warm

I'd like to replace both if not all 4.
The top 2 are green label and the bottom 2 are red.
The top 2 seem way to strong. Lots of air balls.
    Where do I buy parts?
    Thanks

    Out of stock.
    Any other suggestions?

    Why?

    These are the correct coils.

Adjust the bats to be a bit higher.

    Ok thanks

Is game room guys a good place to buy?

Do I have to get this whole set up to get the link?

I think these 2 parts should fix it

Ok, so I hooked up the wires wrong and blew a fuse.
I switched the wires and now the machine won't turn on.
    I feel defeated...

    #9 5 years ago

I have it hooked up right now according to my picture.
I ordered some fuses from pinball life

The diodes on the coil are shorted now, you need to replace them first then the fuse.

The left flipper has on diode the right has 2.
    Is this normal?
Is there anything else I may have broke switching these wires? When I tried it, both upper flippers were not working before the main fuse blew
    Thanks

No. They should all have 2 diodes.

    Not on parallel wound coils.

Yes, but start with the easy things first. New diodes and a new fuse.

I noticed the coil with one diode is not fully attached. Should this have 2 diodes?

Yes. This will cause issues on the game. I had a broken diode on the bottom left flipper. Ball 1 would lock. Then ball 2 would lock, and then the game would kick both balls out into play starting a 2-ball multiball. It took months of troubleshooting until I found a broken diode similar to yours except mine was still in the solder hole.

Also found the flipper with th bad coil had a bent EOS contact.
    What does the EOS do?

I watched a video on EOS and now have an idea of how they work.
Now I know why the coil burned with high voltage when the flipper was held in.
My lower flipper EOS close when the flipper is flipped.
The upper flippers open when flipped.
    Is this correct?

    #18 5 years ago

All four flippers should be the same. The EOS switch should be closed until the last 10 % of the bat travel. When in the up position there needs to be a 1\8 inch of a gap in between the EOS contacts.

The more I look around while I wait for parts, the more I see

    Hot glued plastic coil parts.

This pin is a mess. I hope you didn't over pay for it.

In your last picture, that is a ceramic resistor. They fall off all the time in F-14. You can replace them with newer type ceramic resistors of equal values. The circuit board it fell off of is to help warm your flasher bulbs. It is not critical, but you should add it to your "to do" list.

    #22 5 years ago

    Oh, I definitely over paid.

    #23 5 years ago

    I got it.
    Changed the diodes.
    Changed the fuses.
    Everything works.

My soldering of wires is ugly but solid.

    Thank you very much

Just like anything in life, practice makes perfect. Keep up the good work!
