Related to my question about the original color of F14 legs, has anyone done custom powdercoat on an F14? Looking for colors for inspiration if I do the same. When I redo the cab artwork, I'm switching the current yellow color (those stripes) for the blue which is on the playfield plastics. Thinking about getting the rails, legs, lockdown etc coated the same color maybe. Mine is kind of a one-off machine as it's the one that is (slowly) getting a P-ROC rewrite and having a DMD fitted.

I searched around and didn't find anyone that coated the cab parts of an F14, although I did find the post about coating the habitrails with a matt gunmetal which does look nice.

Thoughts, pictures, comments - welcome.

I had one suggestion to do the rails etc in black, then put red leg protectors on. Sound good, any other ideas?

I had my legs powder coated with red and blue. Looks much better than the rusty chromed originals.

Red on the left and blue on the right to match the inserts! Blue lock down. Then add red and blue LED lit flipper buttons!

I am leaning to chrome over colour because the game has lots of chrome habit trails, and presonally don't like the transformers look of different colours on each side.

Factory Original all the way. I think pinball machines lose value with personal color changes. Some just look like Crap.

arh but that is the difference, it's going to have custom decals, a dmd so why not some personal touches on the trim, but agree I am not a fan of two tone trim nor the flat single colour trims. I had a IM with the cnady red and it looked way better than the Stern Black trim.
