On two occasions, one of the lower flippers temporarily loose power and only the "hold" current is powering the coil. It has happened twice, once on each flipper and both times during multi-ball. I've got new coils and a new rottendog MPU.

My guess would be that the EOS switches on the flipper mechs are not closing properly when the flipper is at rest. Take a look at Vid's flipper guide, and specifically the EOS section here :

If you're getting any power to any of the flippers, then the MPU is certainly not at fault.

Oh, I really hope it's that simple! I will verify gaps and contacts.
