    Hello All

    Just picked up an F14

Some Flashers work but most do not

    4 in B.B. work
And only 3 on the playfield see picture

Can someone post a photo of the Ceramic Boards so I know it any are missing or desoldered them selves over the years

Attached is a picture of the only ones that work and yes all new 89 lamps installed

    Thank you
    James

Is there fuses associated with the Flashers

The flasher boards are scattered about under the playfield. I didn't circle them all, but you can see below for an idea of what you are looking for. It is common for the large white rectangular resistors to be found laying in the bottom of the cabinet, dangling by one lead, or just broken solder connections on the resistor or board wires. They are not independently fused, but daisy chained single source powered. They are multiplexed with other coils, so if you refer to your solenoid table in the manual, you can confirm that the driver transistor circuits are working if the multiplexed playfield coil associated with the flasher in question is working.

The flashers work in pairs. When you activate one flasher, two bulbs should flash.
Except there is a service bulletin for F14 that completely removes the red flasher within your circle.
You can find the service bulletin #41 on ipdb.

each of those boards has a pre-heater that puts a little current thru each bulb... so that it flashes faster. It was an interesting idea but the boards get warm. Often the heater resistor cracks on the solder joint and sometimes falls right out. Solder all those. You should have at least one board that works for reference.

If replacing with LEDs, then you will also have a problem in that you will need to either remove the warming resistor and put a 1k resistor across the LED, or just use ONE LED and one Incandescent bulb per circuit. The circuit requires a leakage current to operate, so going with all LEDs requires you to put a leak resistor in (1k etc) but not low enough to suck all the current out of the LEDs
