So been working on restoring a gottlieb monte carlo. New swemmer mpu and power supply. Ground mods, reflowed and repinned.

Everything is working great but the ball release solenoid isn't working...traced back to F12 fuse which keeps blowing as soon as power on game.

Any ideas where to start. Still haven't figured out. New solenoid installed on ball release.

Are diodes installed on the coils?
Double check you have it the correct way on the new one you installed.

Has diode installed. It was blowing fuse prior to changing coil...I had an extra coil so I tried that. If put new fuse in...will eject ball one time and then fuse blows.

So fuse does not blow when coil is taken out of circuit?

I haven't tried that yet. So maybe just unsolder wires going to coil and retry? I would say it wouldn't blow because it only blows after it releases ball 1 for play.

Any other ideas guys? I'm struggling here.

Did you remove coil from bracket and inspect for wear on wrapper? Possible coil is rubbing on bracket when energized blowing fuse.

I'll check that tonight.

Everything looked go. No wear. Any other ideas?
