Salut,

What is the right value for this fuse (F1 on AS-2518-22 Solenoid board, high voltage section)?
On PinWiki and in the "Electronic Pinball Repair Procedures" document from Bally the value of F1 is listed as 1/4A, 250V, but in the original Future Spa documentation, it is listed to be a 3/16A.

Of course the only fuse I have available is the 1/4A, 250V 8AG, so I'm wondering if it is safe to use this one and I do not have not found a source for this fuse in Europe (and I would like to avoid to get just the fuse shipped from US).

Thanks in advance,
Cheers,

Both the Flash Gordon and Silverball Mania manuals I have sitting next to me say it should be the 3/16.

I am not sure if the 1/16th will make that much difference. Vid or one of the other experts would be able to say with more certainty.

1/4 amp should be fine in that position. Many people modify the clips when replacing to properly fit a stock AGC 1/4amp fuse. Easier to find than 3/16 in the smaller size.

Salut,

Thanks for the answers.

I did not want to change the fuse holder if not required and I had some 1/4 amp 8AG fuses in house.

Working well for now (and all displays are working).

This fuse is a worthless afterthought. It really serves minimal purpose.

When the HV section shorts. This fuse doesn't blow and the HV section on the driver board fries.

If the HV bridge shorts on the rectifier board, the fuse on the rectifier board blows.

If there is a short at a display, the rectifier board fuse blows.

I still always replace it with new holder, just is a terrible design.
