F-14 Tomcat sound issues with Rottendog board.

I recently purchased an F-14 that has a Rottendog MPU installed. It works ok and all of the sounds are there best I can tell. The issue I am having is the sound is scratchy. Also, is makes a nasty buzzing noise when powered on and never has the "bong" sound. I found a video on youtube where the guy has the exact same problems as mine is having but never found a fix for it. Here is the video that shows the problem.

Just wondering if there is anyone that has found a solution to this issue. Thanks for looking!

ok,did you try reseating the connectors and the ribbon cables?on the ribbon cables remove and replace them slowly so you wont miss a row of pins or bend them

Did you ever hear the sound before the RD board was installed? Might just need to recap the sound board and or install a new set of speakers.

That's just the way these boards are it seems. I got one for my F-14 and while the music is ok, the actual voices and sound effects are much louder than the music and sound terrible compared to the default sound board. Luckily I have it as a spare now as I got the original board fixed but the stock one sounds much better with actual bass and voices that won't blow your ears off if you turn up the game, the new board just sounds so lifeless in comparison.

Never had the chance to hear it before.

I was afraid of that. This is my first system 11 game so I wasn't too sure. Now to find out how hard it is to find a factory system 11 mpu that still works.

Good luck woodmedic, if you can get a working MPU or fix the current one that is much preferred. If I did it over again I would have fixed mine and saved the $500+ dollars to get the Rottendog shipped here and with currency conversion, although at least if something happens it will be a suitable replacement, just with crappier sound.

In regards to the video, that loud buzzing when the game is flipped on doesn't seem to be normal, my Rottendog board is definitely not doing that as an FYI.
