F-14 Tomcat Sling Input
Hey Group!
Ok, one last call for help for my F-14 Tomcat...
I have everything working now except the Left Sling.
When machine is energized, the coil rapid fire kicks till blows the fuse.
The Main board is NOT seeing the switch for the left sling.
I have even pulled the connector off the main board and jumpered the common to the Orange-Brown connection and nothing. It still doesn't see the input from the switch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

No help ☹️

Energized. Is that when a game is started or when its turned on? If it chatters when a game is started the switch needs adjusting. The score switch on the underside of the playing field near the sling isnt the issue.

The switch does not register at all...
I've even jumpered at the main board...
Nothing.
The right side works perfectly.

I'm testing in diagnostics mode.

I'll check when I get home to see if chatter is at power on or start of game.

Thank you!!!!!

The chatter comes on when you start to play.

But like I said, in diagnostics, you do NOT see the left kicker switch at all...

Thanks!

If it chatters when you start to play then the switch is too close more than likely. If you remove the rubber ring for the sling does it still chatter? The slingshot is composed of 2 switches on that game One is below which awards points when the plunger pulls in . These often need cleaning or adjustment. The other is a 2 part switch on the top of the playing surface that stick out through the playing field , If the coil is chattering when a game is started chances are those top switches are too close. If removing the rubber and starting a game results in no chatter that would be the issue.

But the connector for the sling switches to the main board is pulled and it still does it.
I've pulled the rubber off cause I thought the same thing...
