F-14 is fun ,i miss mine from time to time.

As for the battery holder, if you don’t mind soldering i would consider not replacing that but instead swapping out U25 for an NVRAM. Don’t even bother trying to pull the chip clean, clip the legs and desolder the pcs individually to avoid damaging the solder pads and thin traces on a Sys 11 board. Solder in a socket and plug the NVRAM in and never worry about it again.

F-14 arrow inserts are notorious for lifting and that is what will be making the mylar separate. You will need to reseat these if you choose to go that far. You can remove the mylar, level and re-glue the inserts and then add yr decals. They make playfield protectors if you aren’t going to clear coat it. You will want to do something to protect that art.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do with the game!
