I recently have been fixing up a f-14 tomcat and found that flasher 6c was not working. The resistors are good. After some looking around I realized the replay knocker was missing. So I bought a new one with a diode. However, when I hooked it up the coil just stayed on and there was a terrible smell. I think I burned out a transistor(s) or they were already burned out. Any thoughts on which one and the type?

Sounds like the transistor that drives it. Manual will have this info. Search for the pdf manual
