I have a Williams System 11 F-14 Tomcat. All my displays were 100% when I purchased it but after transporting and setup the first player display is blank. The other 3 are working fine. I reseated the connectors on the display board and MPU but had no change.
After looking through the forum I see post about missing segments, scrambled text but nothing about one blank display. Last week it was bright and no segments were dim or missing. I understand the chips that control the alpha numeric displays control both player 1 and 2. If they were bad the player 2 display would be bad too, yes?
Where should I look next for the solution?

Thank you.

If it is an original display, it's time may have passed and gone bad. You could try reseating thd connectors on the display panel.

Quoted from JT-Pinball:

Switch player two display to player 1. If it works the player 1 glass is bad or that display board has a break somewhere. If it doesn’t work try using the cable from the working display.

Thanks JT

They are soldered ( all 4 ) to the board and connectors are different. Will not work.

Chad, I guess the next step is to check the connectors again. Will update tomorrow.

bad glass. Seen it happen so many times. Not an ic issue if one display completely dark

Chances are your player 1 display gassed out. Will need to replace it, if you can find one. I purchased a new one from PBR. you have to reuse the PCB the display is soldered to though.

No luck last night. Looks like a new display board is the way to go.
Now to decide on the red display or the blue.
Thank you all for your help.
