I believe the top 2 wires attached to the loop switch are white/grey. This is the switch matrix row color for the loop switch. The green/violet is the loop switch column wire color. Where is the grey wire coming from?

Grey is reserved for logic voltage wiring in the backbox, as far as I can tell from schematics. I no longer have an F-14. That is why I suggested following it to see where it goes. Perhaps in a previous repair they were trying to pass the column signal to another switch in the column and that might have been the only color they had.
