My F14 uses plastic stand offs between the clear and printed plastics. The only place that it has metal stand offs is on the left out lane. Those I found are not available anyplace that I looked when I needed 1 for my Getaway - just ended up cutting some stainless steel tubing and using that.

Here are a couple of quick pictures of the plastic stand offs - let me know if you need anything more:

Quoted from GPS:

Your second picture shows one of the brackets that I am describing. It is just to the left of the clear dome right behind the ball cage/chute. These are what I am missing. If I could get some closeups that show these, where they are and how big they are I could probably make them.

Ok, gotcha - I should be able to get those, but it wouldn't be until the weekend. But will post them as soon as I can unless Soapman beats me to it.

I tend to refer to stand offs as round posts, I would call those mounting brackets - but what do I know.

I could concur here. Mounting brackets sounds better. Symantics can screw things up now and then. Thank you.

Yea, sometimes pictures are worth a thousand words.

Any event, here are some pictures and a drawing with measurements on them - all measurements are in mm.

Hmm - the "files attached" section is not working for me...

Ok, file attachment section now working for me (???).

Higher-res images (temporarily) can be found here if needed: http://members.shaw.ca/junkuser1988/F14/

Drawing and measurements:

There are 3 of these brackets (on the largest piece - "kink" in the longest part):

1 of the next bracket (no "kink" - sorry best picture I can get without taking it apart):

1 of this small one:

Then there is this 1 that connects the 2 pieces of plastic together:

edit: just noticed that there is another to the left and below the 1 in the last picture - it is 25mm x 25mm with a 90° bend in the center. Sorry about that.

Hope that helps.

Quoted from pinballfan:

you have a plastic playfield protector? did you like it?

So far no complaints - but I also have a couple of coats of clear applied as well to the playfield. Went with the protector just to add that little bit a extra protection. Also got one for my Getaway as well since it seemed to work out ok on the F14.

Didn't seem to affect the game play/speed when compared to without it - did have to adjust a couple of the roll over switches though. I also had to trim it a bit around the top left star post on the left sling so that it was 'centered' better.

It is super shiny though...
