But I always thought W/B had a good thing with adding mode points at the end of your ball...you don't want to tilt that away!

All the points you receive during modes played are not awarded to you till the end of the ball. Therefore if you tilt you don't get any of those points. You think that would be popular nowadays with all the diaper rubbers.
