See pic of exposed wire running to opto switch. It's soldered along with the black wire. Anybody know if this normal and why it was done like this? Thanks! Craig

I have that too on my BSD for the long range opto receiver. The wire they use has a shield and it's soldered to the black wire solder pad. Probably because of the frequency these optos run at it's probably there to help minimize interference.
