Expo is great. It's not the best show if all you want to do is play pinball, but it offers stuff that none of the other shows do. It's also 10 minutes from my house, so that's certainly a plus ...

By the way, they recently opened a Twin Peaks right next to the Westin. Yet another reason to attend Expo this year...

    Quoted from JoeinNJ:

What's in the area for her?

Does she like to shop? Northbrook Court is a very nice indoor mall about 10 minutes away ...

And if she enjoys seafood, I highly recommend Bob Chinn's Crab House a few minutes down the road. It's a Chicago area institution ...

    Quoted from calvin12:

Which is good, but I prefer Tilted Kilt.

There's a Tilted Kilt just 15 minutes from the Westin in Vernon Hills.

    Quoted from DrStarkweather:

Tilted Kilt skeeves me out. All the women working there have giant body tattoos. Its not my cup of tea.

I've never been there. Only went to Twin Peaks once. Ordered a hamburger. It sucked.

    Superdawg has good food ...

    Yep. Love it!

    Quoted from doughslingers:

Superdawg is great and this pizza joint was very good near expo also ...

How did you manage to find Joe's? That's a local gem that most people don't even know exists.

    Quoted from s1500:

There was a split second I thought this "Twin Peaks" restaurant was some sort of licensed theme restaurant from the TV miniseries. Like they have a pie you can order a cherry pie special, Laura Palmer burger or something.

That would have been way cooler than what it actually is.

    Quoted from Goonie:

Wasn't there talk of name badges or something last year? What ever happened to that?

IIRC, Laseriffic was thinking about making something last year. I don't remember why the idea got nixed.

I've probably got a couple items I can donate to the LTG show.
