I'm very excited to be back at Chicago's Pinball Expo this year. I'll be set up all week in my regular room at Westin, The Elm Room, just outside of the free play hall.

I will be offering my arsenal of parts, mods, testers, tools, board and game repair, and of course, install of my anyPin NVRAM Battery Eliminators.

    anyPin NVRAM Battery Eliminator Install-
For those bringing games to the show for others to enjoy in the free play area, I'm offering free anyPin install for the games you bring to the show. Bring me the board from the game, and your anyPin NVRAM, and I'll hand it back to you with a professionally installed RAM socket and no more batteries will ever be required for your game again.

I'll offer the same install for anyone bringing me their CPU at the show, but don't have it there in the free play area, for only $15.

    Board and Game Repair-
Everything is first come first served, no appointments. Not everything may get done at the show. If it doesn't get done at the show, it will be shipped back to you after it's finished. Priority will always go to games that are at the show. I usually get pretty swamped pretty quickly, so please don't bring me a board Saturday morning and expect it to be done at the show.

Currently Bally/Williams WPC boards will be done with the possibility of System 11 and DE/Sega boards done at the show depending on how busy I get. No sound boards will be done at shows.

All anyPin NVRAM Battery Eliminator installs will be done at the show.

I will be accepting donations at my booth at Expo for Taro's Legacy Fund. I will also have some of the Taro Pinball Magazine #4 posters available for a donation of $20 or more to the fund...

Also available are the Pinball Classics T-shirt designed by Ryan Claytor in various sizes. All sales of this t-shirt with Taro on it will go to the Taro's Legacy Fund.

Tacks in the wall...yeah, 100 years from now will still be too soon! Thanks for the reminder!

I'm really excited about the clear drop targets, still trying to figure out a way to display them properly at the booth.

I'll also have Pinball Magazine #5 available, and limited quantities of the other issues as well.

Also new this year are some really cool new Flipper Toppers for lots of games.

And of course Spooky Pinball's Alice Cooper's Nightmare Castle will be on display and available for play!

Be sure to come check them all out!

    Quoted from PinballJeff:

Do I still have the record of the most VVRAM? I was at PATZ earlier this year.
Hope it's a good show for you.
    Jeff

I don't think the record for anyPin at a show will ever be beat. When they were first introduced, the record was set in California, 50 anyPin! Going to be tough to best that.

For PatZ you're definitely the record holder. Very glad you brought the CPUs in so they could live a long battery free life!

An update on the Taro's Legacy Fund beneficiaries. I've met with several of the Freedom Service Dogs of America staff, and toured their facility recently. I am nothing but impressed with this place, they're doing amazing work and have an amazing model to get things done.

This is an organization in the Denver CO area, that trains service dogs for people in need. They do this free of charge, so those that need a service dog can get one regardless of their ability to pay for one.

The dogs they train for folks are shelter rescue dogs that they scout out through the entire country. Their facility is incredibly impressive and the people I have met have been absolutely fantastic. It doesn't hurt that they loved Antar as well.

I'm leaning very heavily towards making them the sole beneficiary of the Taro's Legacy Fund. I would be very honored to be able to help them with their mission, and have it all be in Taro's memory.

You forget that Rob has the super human ability to tune out any sound he wants. If you crazy flippers start to bug me, I'll just turn up TheKorn's anyPin video full blast and drive you all out!

    Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

Can you share some more information about Taro's legacy fund? I see you mentioned you might make Freedom Service Dogs of America the full recipient.
I think that's great and I'd love to find out more! What are your goals? How much have you raised so far? Will this be an annual thing?

I'm happy to share more about the Taro Legacy Fund and Freedom Service Dogs of America. Taro's Legacy Fund was started shortly after Taro died. Not only did I lose my best friend, and everyday companion, I also lost my ability to do some day to day things because of Taro's help.

I was devastated, felt hopeless, helpless, and to be soul baringly honest, just done. I desperately needed to shift my energy and do something positive. I thought that some kind of charity in Taro's name was a good way to go. I wanted the memory of my boy to live on. He was loved by many all over the country, and I definitely wasn't going to be the only one to miss him.

I settled on the Taro Legacy Fund and that it would benefit service dog organizations. I found a couple of places that interested me by what they did. Freedom Service Dogs of America was one of them. They actually are the only agency that I found that would train shelter dogs and give them to people that needed a service dog, but couldn't otherwise afford one. Meeting them, learning their history, and seeing their facility solidified my initial impression that this was an organization that I wanted to help.

With some really great people's help, we've raised over $5K to date. I don't really know how long it will continue. As long as I feel good about it, people are receptive to it, and there's an organization like Freedom Service Dogs of America that can benefit from it, I think it's a great thing I can put some of my energy into.
