I recently found an exhibit supply Bagatello I'm going through. The batteries are gone and the wiring is questionable. I'm going to make a schematic but would also like to add a power supply. What voltage should I use? The payout mech coil is BIG

I don't know ANYTHING about this game or batteries that would be used for this. I did see a 48 volt battery brick that was listed as used in early pins so, apparently the voltage can go that high. If I were faced with his question and wanted to get the game up and running, I'd check the ohms on the coil to see if it's in range of operational, I'd buy a variac: https://www.circuitspecialists.com/variac-variable-ac-ps05kva_with_digital_display.html?otaid=gpl&gclid=CjwKCAjwuvmHBhAxEiwAWAYj-KI5fOTqgShWgugXxSFVBHAM3Uj9Gz8n-u-XmYA4PLwJ0y1tzcbSXRoCrYAQAvD_BwE
Then I'd hook up a bridge rectifier and slowly turn up the variac until the coil energizes with the strength needed. (Briefly of course) Then I'd take a voltage reading. Then I'd take an amperage reading. That would give me the info I would need to retrofit with a DC power supply.
Another way, I suppose would be to buy a bunch of 6 volt lantern batteries and begin add them in series until it fires.
I guess my question would be before all this testing - is there polarity on a DC coil?

Start with 6v. most of the early games operated on 6 or 9. I know the bally payout mechs run off 6
