Heck, if I was local I'd strongly consider this. But presumably the seller has also read between the lines and come to the definitive conclusion that I'm a tool. Spoiler alert: he's probably right!

I spent 8K for my Hobbit SE via a 'free' upgrade from JJP. New they are 9,000 (if I recall). If I go to sell mine it would likely be in the 6,500 to 6,800 range. So I would lose 1,500 for my HUO pin.

That isn't soooo bad. I can't expect a used to sell like a NIB, but it probably is selling used 1,000 to 2,000 less than it should. I would hope it would only depreciate 1,000 to 1,500 at most, but that isn't the case.

However, I am still seeing WOZ sell for about 500 to 1,000 less than NIB cost, so WOZ is holding up much much better on resale.

Oh WOZ does great with resale, as it should. Its a great game. I just fell out of love with Hobbit very quickly. At first I LOVED it, but there is so little satisfying shots in this game. I'd say more than any other pin I've ever owned. After a while, multiball and pop up frenzy gets really old. its a shame, its gorgeous, built like a tank (like all JJP pins) but just not much fun. I haven't owned DI but the one time I played it I liked it too.

It's already a great game and one of the best movie based pins out there, fairly well reviewed on here as well and people are still buying them NIB. It's also one of the highest rated pins by the Straight Down the Middle guys as well and they know their pinball machines. You coming into a sales thread though just to put the game down isn't cool.

Also, code does impact a games value. Star Trek LE tanked in value before Stern finally completed the code. Same with Metallica.

Wow, I’m amazed at the backlash. First, I never claimed to be the first owner. I said it was purchased for over $8k. I’m the second owner for clarification. Also, I have two possible trades listed because my brother would pay me immediately for those two pins. Next, $6950 is a very fair price for this pin. Lastly, yes, I need the money for other things at this time. Ask the wife. Lol. I never realized what a tough community Pinside could be. I guess I need to be crystal clear on my ads in the future so people don’t pull out the claws. Have a great week all!
