Came in my Flash Gordon. Wondering what the story is.

My guess -- somebody washed the board, water got inside the switches and they became contaminated (nice blue-green corrosion on internal switch contacts). Had to replace switches as a result.
Rather than replace switches - they cheaped out and just installed wires in the closed positions and left the open positions open.

What Ed said. I have actually done this myself on a hosed MPU board just to get it going but I did eventually go back and replace the switches after I got them in. I've also seen it where you put sockets in and use jumper wires to act as the switches.

Yeh, that board has been repaired before and "somebody" installed jumper wires instead of the dip switches. Nothing new or special about it.

Thanks for the info guys. I am going to replace it with another one then. This board boots and works fine other than no switches. Any suggestions on what I should put on it for a price?

ROMs have been soldered in too.

Have you thought about buying some dip switches and installing them?

Yes, my board guy is going to take care of it.
