Oddly enough, happens to me with some regularity here.

And for some reason, only on this forum.

Is there any I.T. tweak that can be done to save what's been typed (for when you forward space to get back to where you were)?

Every time I do so I get a blank slate here--and lose some of my best stuff.

+1 It happens, but not often for me.

Hmmm, not unless everything is highlighted.

press Ctrl+Z and it will restore your deleted text.

vcloverjr: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I do that frequently and did not know you could press Ctrl+Z to restore. I lost a MAJOR piece I had written and accidentally (and don't know what key I hit to do this) erased all of it. I was furious. I tried everything I could to get it back and had to do it all over again. NOW I know what to do! That was a great tip!!!

Even if you've actually backspaced to a previous screen (then subsequently forward spaced to a blank post reply screen)?

    If so, wow in advance.

If you click outside the text window and hit backspace, it's a shortcut for the Back button.

Annoying, I know. You'd think at this point they would make it Alt-something, or Apple Command-something to avoid this frustration, but that's Unix/Linux folks for you. Especially if you're a power user and rotate between several windows at once, you're increasingly prone.
