There's a lot to be said about actually being able to hear the audio that leads to an enhanced game experience. A noisy environment doesn't really do a machine much justice. In solid state games, you can miss a lot of the cues for target and mode instructions. Lacking those, I find that I pretty much end up just shooting at things randomly or at whatever happens to be blinking.
