My parents taught me early that there we're certain words you never use to describe someone. (race/religion/gender, etc.) "Bitch" was one of them.
My father was an old school guy from Sicily who had two rules. A man works to provide for his family and is never disrespectful to women.
Having said that, I have no doubt that the OP is a good guy and a good parent.
