My first EK, so pretty excited to do one. Loved Evel back then (up until the Snake River Shakedown).
This one apparently spent WAY too much time in a smoky bar. Worst case of tar/nicotine nastiness that I've seen. Def wearing gloves to dismantle.

Going to have to replace bottom of cabinet.
Someone was actually successful in cutting out the bottom to steal the coin box.

It's better than cutting a hole in the playfield. A rock pinball suffered this fate at a college dorm game room years ago.

I believe it. They must have needed beer money.
Cutting 1/2" off the bottom of cabinet to remove lower panel.

I'll replace the bottom with 1/2" plywood.

2 coats primer applied. I'll send this lightly with #800, and spray base coat.
I'm using base/clear coat on this one.

Display panel stripped of all parts, and painted. I'll be putting all new lamp sockets, common wires, and led displays (Pinitech) in this.

Chris at pinball plating will chrome that skin for 275. Great deal and way to take restoration to the next level. That doesn’t include trim. You could buff the stainless trim for a decent look if you don’t want to pay another 225.00.

Or…..you can go the cheapskate route and sand, polish and buff either an existing skin or a new skin and get results like this.

Playfield has arrived. Apron painted and decals applied (Planetary).
Doing a bit of custom work on the legs, and then apply clearcoat on legs, cabinet, apron.

A bit of custom paint for the front legs. I'll use white legs on the back. These will get touch ups in a couple areas before clearcoat.
I'll also continue the red pinstripe across the letters on the cabinet front.

I'll get lower cabinet harness installed, and start putting this back together.

Looks great. You will get terrible air balls off the front target post without the original style rubber. I found out the hard way. Another solution is to stack two of the type you have on now. https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/38-6425

Thx.
Chime unit/panel cleaned up. Marco sells a kit to easily replace grommets, bushings, etc.
