I finally gave in and decided to try this stuff, now I'm tempted just to buy the 5 gallon bucket of it!

Here is a coin door that was in miserable shape:

Put it in for about 15 hours (forgot about it!) and its not new, but it looks great!
First pull out of the pan, no scrubbing:

After two minutes of foil scrubbing and a wipe down:

Next I plan on buffing then I suppose I'll need to hit it with a little spray can clear coat to keep it from rusting pretty soon after?

    That is some amazing stuff.
Never heard of spraying clear coat on them before.
    Has anyone done this?

    Wow, those are great results!

When you soak stuff like that, I'd suggest removing the lock and the hinge bar too. The water/moisture can still seep in underneath them, and they have a harder time drying out.

I had meant to remove the lock but forgot... Didn't think about the hinge, but good idea.

I was thinking about clearing just to seal the air and moisture out assuming that a good portion of the pitted metal would be susceptible to more rust.

Go over it with chrome polish or Brasso to protect it instead of spraying on a clearcoat.

I use Blue Magic polish which has a little silicone residue purposely after a good polish. I have also just used auto wax with good results. You are right to want to protect it, but I think using clear coatings will lead to chipping with so much handling of the coin door over the years.

That turned out great. I assume the other parts turned out just as good. Stashy is right just some wax will keep it good.

    ^^^ what stash says !

Ok, here are the other results. The coin entrance plate was so pitted that it doesn't look very good - but still loads better than the rust bucket version.
