I've got a really corroded Jones plug female part on my coin door that I'd love to dunk in Evaporust to clean up the brackets but I'm wondering how that stuff interacts with bakelite and the Jones connector metal itself? Can I safely dip the thing, or should I just clean it up by hand?

Thanks!
