Very cool. I clicked and thought it would be another we need X pin thread, but happy to see a homebrew thread. It's looking great.
Quoted from zaki:That was a good atari 2600 game
no such thing, they all sucked IMHO
Work has been nuts with covid sending people home lately, haven't had the time recently to work on this as I'm picking up their slack, so I MADE time and managed to get the relay board cut and the 110 crap wired in the TZ cab. Plus I've been playing more pinball lately getting in the way☺️
I'm at over a hundred relays here which is more than DBZ has, but I've only used up about 2/3 of the board so I should be good. Gotta draw the rest of my circuits to get a final count. If I have too I'll double stack or use the coin box area.

Can't wait till I can flip this! Looking great.
ET had landed, wpc slide system is good to go. My mech for the trough clears the glass by maybe a 1/16th!!!!! And the vuk in back that the ramp feed whizzes right by the relays so I got LUCKY twice(that's what she said)
Whahoo! making progress.

I actually like it, but what would really be cool is if you could put in a diverter where the ball could also travel down to the lower left flipper.

It drops it in a gobble hole that can be mid plunged. The whole feeds the vuk to the upper left flipper
Quoted from vicjw66:Have you put the gobble hole in yet? I’m not seeing it.
It's there and works
What an inspiring project! After reading the Deeproot threads and seeing how a company can blow millions without producing a game, it is refreshing to see someone getting cool sh!t done! Keep the photos coming.
Bonus unit! Tested out well, it's 5rpms which is just enough time to come off of switch have a second or so delay and then hit the next switch. Bonus scored for each Reese's piece made at ball end. Besides doing this this weekend I prewired my entire coin door cab area including the chimes flipper switches start button and lights. Getting close to to wiring bottom board. I'm holding off to the last minute because I did make some playfield changes and it's always a pain in the ass to rewire things afterwards.
Wow Matt! My first time seeing this online, its equally impressive to see the layout and wiring photos as it is in person. I know the finish gameplay will have just as much flow as your Dragonball Z .

Thanks man, I still have one surprise or two one of which involves a player control button but I just haven't figured it out yet on where to put it and what it will be, it was a kickback but I took that out I want something more original but may settle for a magnet somewhere. After that I should be drilling down on the schematics and wiring.
ET pinball was due to be created but Bally could not get the license, so it became BMX.
Retheme a BMX pinball and this is it !
Been pretty busy but holidays are over so I'm buckling down again. Here's the current playfield layout, pretty much done. Art wise a buddy is helping me to make a poor man's hardtop after we scan the playfield so that's in the works.....
Added some train model trees to the forest area!
And yes the Atari cartridge blocks your outlane view to screw you yet again, is it silly? Yup but I like it!

Took forever to individually label the relays with a lable maker but worth it. I've got 13 relay modules in the head so look like the game is clocking in at 100 relays even. Extra space in back is helpful I'll pull those din rails and mount some terminal strips I'll need, and a Masonite cover so the wires will slide nice and easy when moving the playfield. Everything coming together NICELY!

Hard at work! Almost finished, another strong day after work I'll be done wiring.
IMG_20220206_202338742 (resized).jpgI hope you make a video of them clicking away without the high-voltage power so we can all hear that electromechanical sound.

I'll try to put up a YouTube link this weekend if I can remember I'm having an ET is born party on Saturday when I drop the relay board in hopefully he's not stillborn. Last time when I did DBZ it just worked- so there is hope
About as clean as I can get it. All of the lever connectors are for a diode feed Bank to pulse the scoring relay per bank so they don't backfeed and pull in other Target relays through their own self-hold contacts. I may come up with a cleaner solution that doesn't involve heat shrinking and soldering I would like to diodes to be easily changeable. All the wires on the right still need to be wired in but they go to a relay terminal and stop the guts and the heart is completed. All feeds up to the head are also completed beside some mp3 triggers I'm still muling over.

Did I miss what the bell is for?
(Emergency Call Button?)
Your next game needs to have an elevator in it
Quoted from miracleman:Did I miss what the bell is for?

Yes Spence, that bell is from an elevator there is a shot in the game that will pulse the bell two times after you "send ET home" just a fun EM callback. Next game is pokemon but I need Todo quite a bit to this cabinet and playfield art wise before I will continue drumming along.
I’m enjoying these updates. Keep ‘em coming. I’m particularly curious about seeing the finished playfield and the artwork.
Game is working, had quite a few issues on start up such as mixed up lights and oversights in the schematics, I added a few relays and adjusted a few things here and there to fix it up. I love it, it has weird flow! Multiball and other game features works expected. It's debut party is tomorrow, Ill make a short vid for YouTube if I can remember.
Next up I have to make some ball guards for the apron area tonight out of junk DMD glare guards.

You going to bring it to the Asylum? I really want to check it out!

At some point sure thang, maybe points monster.

Awesome! Can't wait to check it out.
ET was a hit! A sling shot locked on and blew a fuse, but besides that the captive ball was determined to have bad geometry to give you a consistent feed to the flipable area, so a rework was done, and works nicely, and I added the ballsave to start on multiball start up too.
IMG_20220213_124821329 (resized).jpgGot to play E.T. and it was a Blast, once I got used to the secret gobble hole and the upper flippers I started doing better but by that time I was starting to get a little delirious. just seeing the insane wiring job you did was quite fulfilling in itself. Oh and please put the glass on the next time so that Ray and I don't get tempted to cheat again. Amazing project Matt!
