How is the estimated value on here calculated? Is that for a grade A unit? and subtract from there?

#2 11 years ago

...What do you mean?

An item is only worth what someone will pay for it.

#3 11 years ago

The averages are from completed ebay auctions.

Also, keep in mind that over the past two years, prices have for the most part increased dramatically. Most of the estimated prices are low as a result.

I guess I mean how do you grade a machine?
Damage to body would be less deduction than say a damaged playfield?

So how would you rate this pin?
Is it a buy or a walk away? (it is not for sale but a pin I play at lunch)

It is not that simple. There a ton of things that factor into the cost of a game.

Supply, demand, the seller, cosmetic issues, electrical issues, and that's just scratching the surface.

It is complicate, but if it's within your price range and a pin you want, go get it.

You need to turn it on, play it, check if the flippers/coils work and are strong.

Then go into switch test and see if all the switches work.

Then go into lamp test...check em all.

Then check the playfield for wear areas that you may need to repair.

Then rate the cabinet/backglass.

All of these affect the price of the pin. The more things wrong the more the price drops. But only to an extent. No pin I have ever bought is 100% even if I originally though it might be. Its like a living organism. Things will break and you will have to fix.

hth.

Now that depends on price, distance from you etc

How much is it?
