Ive had this game for about 5 years or so, its pretty popular when the club comes over to play. Its soon up for a full shop job and LED conversion and powder coating as Ive been doing the whole collection.
Question : mine shows current highscore to beat but not the 3 letter name input on attract mode. Is this correct ?

That may be a setting, mine cycles through 1st through 4th in attract mode.
Quoted from hockeymutt:Just picked one up, any leads on new plastics?
I've been on the hunt as well, Plastics for this game seem to be rare, mine works well but the previous owner did some janky repairs.
Has anyone thought about re-making them? Vacuum forming etc....?
EFLW GI Repair- The machine looks much better now!

Picked up a pretty nice machine that's blowing the fuse under the playfield. Supposedly it was working up until recently.
Quoted from Jason43:I thought this was interesting. My machine was built out of the remains of an Operation Wolf cabinet.[quoted image]
Mine had that as well — couldn’t figure out what game it was.

Same here. And the innards of my Special Force (also Bally 6803) are made from scraps from some other games as well.
Any chance someone could grab a pic of the wiring on the lower left flipper? I got my game up and running, but I've got no flippers and when I press the left flipper, the 5a fuse on the power supply blows. I suspect the wires may be oriented incorrectly.
No worries, got it figured out. The previous owner swapped in a new coil and wired it backwards. Everything working now.
Quoted from Jason43:I know I can't be the only one having this problem[quoted image]
It appears that the right side wall of the plastic ramp was cut off. My ramp has a border of plastic that overlaps that area to prevent the ball from getting stuck.
Here is a stock photo (from IPDB) of the original ramp. Look closely at the area where your ball is stuck and you'll see what I mean.
Maybe it was removed because it was cracked. That edge of the ramp really takes a beating with the flipper smashing the ball point blank into it with a poorly positioned shot over the bridge. My ramp is cracked pretty bad on that edge, had to do some repair work on it.
image-20 (resized).jpgThat makes sense. The ramp was reinforced on that outer edge. It probably broke at some point then. I heated and bent a piece of plexi and attached it to the clear plastic that the ball was getting stuck on. Seems to have solved the problem.
After owning this game for quite a few years...it was next on the list to take to the tech to have fully shopped and upgraded. Can anyone take a pic of the knocker and post..I don't seem to have one..looks like a spot in lower cabinet where one once was...but there is no wiring or anything I can find that went to it
I'll snap a pick when I get home. Iirc, it's mounted to the underside of the lower left playfield and hits the side of the cab
Had one for a while. Fun and unique game. Not a keep though. Had fun working on it and eventually traded it.
Quoted from Jason43:[quoted image]
oh interesting, not where I thought it was at all,, thank you!
Just got my lost world back from being shopped , all LED, all new flipper batts, new fliper components, new drop targets, undercab lights , etc, powder coated , ..etc..it's like a brand new game! Oops..I see multi ball gate in wrong..fixing now

Looks great! is that gold powder coat?
I don't think I've posted these pics yet in this forum, I added 'upgrades' to my EFTLW.
1) flashing fiberoptic lights on volcano
2) hidden black light strip that illuminates mountain range area
3) some fake plants
4) lizard in the lava pit. Since the photo this has been changed to a human skeleton
5) Dinosaur props. I've since removed the large T-Rex in the upper playfield since I like the more open look.
6) additional light fixture illuminating bridge of gold.
Quoted from MoSeS_1592:Looks great! is that gold powder coat?
Yes..I've had about 10-12 of my games powder coated..I had the bridge and upkicker shoots redone as well..and new build treasure logo..so I had that same gold color done for the rest as well .

If you don't mind me asking where did you get the parts coated and what does it cost?

Local powder coater..so we don't have to ship anything..it's $150 a set and that includes full sand blasting. Here's some pics of a few he's done for me. GNR turned out amazing..had the wire forms all done as well.. we have a spare set of stern metals we bought so no down time on all our sterns ..have set done..then put on game when done so it's not sitting all apart.

Off the top of my head I think that is one of the stand-ups on the right side. The 5 bank of stand-ups that raise the treasure by 50k. On mine sometimes the plastic trim comes down and it traps the stand-up to keep it closed.
Thanks. that’s was it. Second one down from top. Replacing bulbs are a bear, no room and hard to remove.
Played this game at an airport when it was new in my childhood, then found one at an auction in 2002. Its long gone, but one of my favs and popular among my friends at the time.
Does everybody know that there is a 2nd way to open the gate up top besides hitting the drop targets? It takes a bit of skill to pull it off, see if you can figure it out (with the glass on).

Hey RONR11,
I hope that you are aware how the upper playfield lifts up for access under and below it. If you don't have a manual, IPDB has a digital copy to view:
https://www.ipdb.org/files/789/Bally_1988_Escape_from_the_Lost_World_Operating_Parts_Manual.pdf
Section 8-4 and 8-5 describes the access.
Cheers,
Steveo

The lady friend figured this one out. I believe it is looping the upper playfield three times.
I have one single playfield lamp on my 6803 machine not working. I replaced the 1n4004 diode at the lamp base, tested the circuit by bypassing the base altogether to rule out bad weld joint in the base itself. If I put a bulb from the input wire directly to ground it lights and stays on constantly. The partner lamp that shares the other phase of the driver (Q28 in this instance) works just fine. I've ruled out the driver transistor, the lamp base, the 1N4004 (replaced with 1N4007), multiple incandescent bulbs, and nothing works.
Any ideas?
Quoted from RONR11:Thanks Steve, downloaded and printed. I see some of me bonus lites are worn, 128 256 thousand beyond legible. And body make stickers? I can’t tell if they are part of overlay and if so. How to remove. My thought is to lazerprint On Mylar.thanks Ron[quoted image]
I too am on the hunt for the insert decals. Anyone know if they have been repro'd, and if so who sells them?
I've had this game for a while now and every time I went to dial it in I broke something else... So I just stopped touching it. Some extra time at home led to the game finally getting all the little issue fixed, adjustments made, and a nice coat of wax.... Actually a really fun game!

My escape ball gate in the back wasnt closing. I took a look at where the mech was and how much stuff was going to prevent me from getting near it... didn't even consider fixing it until I saw this post! Thank You! My Gate now closes.

Correct about the looping but I'm almost positive its 5 loops to open the gate
Hey everyone! So I was lucky enough to just join the club. But my left side multiball kicker is always on, constantly firing, so I’m in the middle of diagnosing that. Has anyone here had that happen? My first thought is that maybe it’s one of the sensor boards. I cleaned all four lenses but that didn’t change anything.
Also, on mine, one board has a plug attached, and the other does not. Instead it has just a black wire and a red wire coming off the back of it instead of the plug end. Is this normal?
Also also, when I unplug the left opto board, the solenoid stops firing. Would this for sure mean that it is a problem with on of the two opto/sensor/led boards?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
