Quoted from ZMeny:I think we have Rai squared away thanks everyone for the help!!!! Great Escalera Club here!
Elaborate a bit. When you say pinball plate to you mean the forklift model with detachable extended plate? Or do you mean the typical toe plate on a standard escalera without forklift?
I mean the detachable forklift plate . Will my situation of lifting a machine from the front end off the ground on all four legs and moving it around work well ?
Does anyone know can you use an Escalera with big wheels to go down a grassy hill with maybe some branches sticking out?
I was going to use it to take a pinball NIB down the hill from my garage into walkout basement, then use the pinball plate to lift it to put legs on and move it into positon
Quoted from Yelobird:I have done so many times but you would need to define "Branches" a bit better for a guarantee.... If you mean exposed roots, sure. If your talking fallen limbs, its not a 4x4. lol
Yeah just exposed roots. Can I still use the big wheel attachment with the forklift option?
Quoted from Yelobird:The fork lift option is Only for lifting in place for the most part. NOT excursions across a lawn. The big wheel option is for transport and tilt back. When the fork option is in use the Big Wheels would not be on the ground or of any use.
So I should take of the forklift option, use the big wheels, get the box in my basement, then unbox, attach the forklift and pinball plate then use it to setup machine?
Thanks again!
Quoted from Yelobird:I think this start to finish video from my friend in WI should mostly answer all your questions. lol
yes I saw that thanks. Ah I think I skimmed over the part where he attaches the forklift to the actual machine. So I will do that... use the Escalera with the big wheels, get it into basement. then attach forlift .. I think itll work out great!
Escalera ordered with pinball plate. Can't wait to start lifting things around the house. Can I stand on the pinball plate and it can lift me too? I weigh 244 lbs now, Im on a diet.
Quoted from Yelobird:Only if your arm can reach around the unit and turn the crank but yes. Congrats, great purchase!
Thats what the wife is there for.. reach around..
To turn the crank of course.
For my first use I was going to use the pinball plate to move my wonka into position in my line up , but the game has under cab lights will it damage those ? Or should be all good ?
Quoted from ZMeny:I have not seen how the JJP undercab lighting is setup. Is the lighting recessed into the cab or is it sticking out?
Its recessed into the cab and doesnt' stick out. I wish all machines had it factory, its pretty awesome.
I will take a photo when I get home.
Thanks!
Quoted from 27dnast:^ why not just use carpet sliders?
Good idea I just went Walmart to get some. Don’t get me wrong love the Escalera fantastic heavy duty machine . Makes me feel like I need champagne and Cavier when I use it . Those clicks when I use the pinball plate awesome
Quoted from Yelobird:Have you done stairs yet? First time is always scary but with practice its all good.
No I’m too scared, i have a
taxi pinball coming I’ll just wheel it down the hill like
Always . And use the pinball plate to prop it up to put legs then use sliders
Very excited and happy today, with those carpet slider things I am able to re-arrange my pins and possibly squeeze in another 2 pins! Yippie! Hurry up JJP Back to the Future Im waiting!
Quoted from Rhombus:Its not going to work the way you want it to unless you want to pick up the pallet and slide it on the forks because the attachments front wheels are in the way. One use case it will work is when you have a pallet in the back of a pickup truck but thats been about it for me. Big disappointment, I would save your money. Kinda defeats the whole purpose in my mind. If you got yours from someone in the pinball industry they were being disingenuous.
Thats what I thought. I was like physically looking at the pallet and there is no way. Unless the bottom of the pallet didnt have wood crossing it like this pallet does.
Quoted from LTG:That is why I always wanted one with the forklift attachment.
As I'd gotten older, my days of setting them up by myself are over. No more front legs on. Set down. Lift game and support on a knee and put the rear legs on.
LTG : )
Yes this thing was a blessing, I was pleasantly surprised by ease of use , especially sparing my back and knees.
I know there is a lot of info already and very awesome videos but I thought I would contribute my experience today with the pinball plate , instead of using it to set up a machine I used it to dismantle
This may helpful for newbies

The escalera is awesome.

Forklift + plate to lift machine up and down to remove legs
Quoted from ToucanF16:I already have practically every Escalera attachment. But I can’t wait to see a STDM Escalera video![quoted image][quoted image]
Hey man I have the Escalera with the fork lift attachment, what do you need to hook it up to the back of the car?
Im getting a divorce soon so starting the process of moving my pinball collection to my new home. I think I can easily get the machines into my tahoe 1 at a time but how do you secure the Escalera to the rear of the car like that?
Thanks

Never mind :
Hey guys Im about to start transferring just a couple machines to my parents basement. Has anyone ever used the Escalera with the pinball plate, put the machine on it and crank it up in the air, and then slide it into the trunk (pinball machine head first)? I have a Tahoe, and was going to attempt this.
Thanks for any insight
Quoted from ToucanF16:Wow! Figured it would fit in the Tahoe.
I know what do i do! stupid, Useless truck!
Quoted from flynnibus:what year?
The tahoe is exact same truck as the suburban except in length. I put pins in there all the time. What wouldn't fit though was stern pins with the head at the wrong end.. I had to remove a head to fit two stern games in the back. (not advised )
Its a 2015, do you think if I turn it around it will fit? I haven't tried that. Maybe I can leave the trunk open Im just transporting a few blocks down the street to my parents house.
Quoted from flynnibus:It looks like the difference is your seats are folded down for the space? There appears to be some ledge you are sitting on? Mine is the previous gen (2013). 2015 is first year of the redo I think. My back seats come out
The reason I had to take the head off was fitting the games side by side... they can't sit opposite each other and still fit due to the angle of the body.
Ah gotcha yeah my seats don’t come out and the ledge is not movable oh well time to call pinkitten luckily he lives nearby !
Thanks guys
Quoted from bobukcat:I saw in the "vehicles a game will fit in" thread that the Tahoe and Suburban will no longer hold a folded pin, blew my mind as I would never has suspected that.
Quoted from evileye:Wow, I would’ve automatically assumed those trucks were good to go.
We have a 2018 Grand Cherokee and I can barely fit a modern Stern in there, only wrapped in cellophane, no blankets. Also, I have read you should load a pin coin door first in an SUV. Loading it rear end first makes it a bitch to remove. Again, I have only read that, but it makes sense if you have foldable read seats and the bottom of the truck isn’t completely flat like a cargo van/mini van.
Yeah I gave up it will not fit in the newer Tahoes. My friend Pinkitten was willing to come in 5 minutes to help me transport it, but my parents house is about one mile away, so I just loaded it up on my Escalera and took it for a 1.0 mile walk down the road.. worked out fine!
HEres me pushing it, problem is stupid potholes in Michigan are bad.
IMG_4820 (resized).jpegQuoted from Yelobird:Say What?? Assume this is a joke, you actually Walked a pin a mile down the road? lol
Yeah it worked out fine ! Had the big wheel attachment . Lots of mosquitoes and pot holes though
Does anyone know the max weight of the pinball plate? I just got a p3 which I guess is close to 360-370 lbs, not sure if it can hold it?
I should probably contact Escalara about this, but I have left my hand truck with the forklift outside in the cold for a couple weeks. Everything is fine, but now it just feels more rough using the forklift up and down.. like its grinding metal on metal
Are we supposed to lube it up once in a while with grease?
