Eric Priepke is awesome! Cactus Canyon Continued , his work with Color DMD , and now he is kicking ass doing code for RiCk and Morty from Spooky pinball . What he has done for pinball on his spare time is pretty incredible.

Solid designated driver as well !

#3 3 years ago

Yes he is! He made Rick and Morty knock when it would not.

Now I'm not trying to be selfish, but am also requesting an alternate match sequence like some other games have. You know, two.

#4 3 years ago

What other recent games have 2 match sequences?

Not sure now many do or what the last one was that did. But I remember at least Breakshot did. Capcom was doing some bitchin shit back in the day.

High five!

I listened to LoserKid PodCast earlier today with Eric's interview. Well done.!

I’m sure he could put another in and it would work as it should But some things are out of his control ,anything used from the show would need to be approved and /or help from David to create animations. I’m glad we got blood dome added recently, it’s a cool mode . Eric does care about making Rick and Morty as good as it can be and it shows with what he has already done .

No doubt about that! And it is obvious that he is open to suggestions because of his interaction on the forum and nobody can think up everything all by themselves. That's why I mentioned it now, while it is still a work in progress. One little detail that can make an amazing game a little better.

He is pretty cool.

+1

Put me down for a t-shirt... unless someone copyrighted that idea. I mean, there's enough room in this hobby for two Awesome dudes, isn't there?

I must apologize, it was episode #55 of PoorMans podcast that I listened to that had Eric on.

Loser kid was Butch Peel.

Stern Star Trek - 3

#15 3 years ago

Yep, I agree, Eric is awesome.

#16 3 years ago

You should see him figure skate.

Guy has a Triple Lutz that would make Brian Boitano weep like Nancy Kerigan after getting hit with a tire iron.

#17 3 years ago

Eric is a Great Guy! He was very patient with me on beta testing Colordmd for Gilligan's island.
He did an awesome job on that title.
Most guys named Eric are pretty awesome.
Just saying.

#18 3 years ago

man addresses more bug fixes in a week than others do in years.

on the job and at the ready.
hes no eric 'idle', thats for sure.

im confident that i am not alone in hoping that he oversees future spooky projects. no half-baked code served up by this man.

Agreed!

He is the kind of hero we need in times like these.

I appreciate the sentiment; but I wouldn’t have to fix ‘em if I didn’t write ‘em in the first place. That’s the thing about a one man show; you’re to blame for all of it.

And when it’s awesome, you are also to blame for it.

Just like a quarterback: All the credit when things go right and all the blame when they don’t.

Rick and Morty does too

#25 3 years ago

He is the coolest!

#26 3 years ago

But has he done anything awesome today?

#27 3 years ago

He's probably done more awesome things before lunch than most of us do in a month!

#28 3 years ago

I've heard that spooky pays him extra for each bug that he squashes. I've also heard that wally from dilbert is his idol

New Rick and Morty update!

2 months later
#32 3 years ago

Rick and Morty keeps getting better and I personally believe that it has the best theme integration into a pin ever, thanks to Eric.

#33 3 years ago

And again, he does this on his “spare” time.

it seriously is insane!

#35 3 years ago

If I could, I would have Eric’s baby!

#36 3 years ago

Let’s get this thread on fire! Under 50 posts about someone that has contributed so much to pinball is insufficient! A thank you, a Lionman, call him out for being a ginger, whatever it takes let’s get some legs to this thread and give the guy some credit that he obviously deserves.

#37 3 years ago

There are a few easter eggs in R&M... all because of the big tall ginger!

Have you been drinking, Doug?

that would be one ugly kid! They would be freaking awesome... but damn ugly.

Ha! Yeah a little. Doesn’t make what I’m saying not true. If there is an award for programmer of the year, Eric deserves that award!

#41 3 years ago

They would be the spawn of LIONMEN I dare say.

How the heck is there not an award for that?

#43 3 years ago

Eric is seriously awesome and Rick and Morty is my favorite game! If he and Scott do another game together I'm in regardless of theme.

And I agree that the theme integration in Rick and Morty is the best ever!

Exactly! if you are a fan of the show ( like myself ) you constantly see things and it makes perfect sense why things are done a certain way in the game.

#46 3 years ago

Rick and Morty is awesome. Love the match sequences. Love the Morty skins variety!

#47 3 years ago

I gave Doug a high five Thursday, and would have given EP one to if i would have saw him

#48 3 years ago

I also would buy any game Scott and Eric do.

EP is the best thing to happen to team spooky since Scott.

Guy is refreshing for what he does for pinball!

Eric has a very good understanding as to how a game should communicate with the player. This knowledge is part of what makes him awesome.

Not sure if we’ll see another Scott/Eric game but they are a great duo and I’d be all in on another collaboration from these two.
