Since it's Eric's birthday today. It's a good day to start speculating on his rumored Godfather pin.

He's going to make you a pinball you can't refuse.

Leave the mode, take the cannoli multiball.

What do you think will all be in the game ?

LTG : )

#2 1 year ago

A horse head and guns.

#3 1 year ago

One hell of a match sequence.

I find that very hard to believe with Eric's designs; but I always give everything a chance.

They would also need to place an Easter egg involving the godfather like scene from robinhood men in tights. Like a lizard pooping on his jacket or something.

Less multiball bonanza !

Imo terrible theme for pinball, but allways interesting to see what eric the creator can do.

It will also be very interesting to see where pricing is.

#9 1 year ago

Happy Birthday Eric.
Looking forward to kicking your butt soon for dollars.

Fredo's boat ride gobble hole. The ball does not return.

#11 1 year ago

If this is true, I am really curious how they are going to inject any humor into it and get away with it based on the the licensee.

Is a ball in the pop bumpers going to show an animation of Sonny getting blasted at the causeway? Is there going to be a mode save the ball by not having Fredo talk about Johnny Ola to Michael?

The Godfather movies are really serious mob movies and don't much, if any, humor like Goodfellas and The Sopranos. Probably the funniest scene in the first two movies is when a young Vito has to remind the local land lord who he is to help an old lady not get kicked out.

I'm curious how they are going to pull it off.

#12 1 year ago

Sonny multi-multi-ball.

Those would be perfect

So, do you guys think that the license holder will allow things like "Horse Head Multiball", "Save Moe Greene", and "Take the Cannoli Ball Save"?

I just would have thought that Coppala and the Brando estate would have an iron grip on how the license was used.

Don't worry this is based on the book

Gotta be a codename for something else. This would be a very bad idea. If you want a theme with a strong Italian connection... just make the Rocky Legacy.

It’s actually about Godfather Pizza

Here's your Game over Screen shot.
D.O.A.
If Eric can successfully turn Godfather into a great pin.... well he's a genius.
But what an uphill battle...
Genius Films... but not for pinball.
We shall see....

been around long enough to know you need a decent layout even with a good license. There’s been a few duds as of late….

This would be a better theme.

#26 1 year ago

dupe post, but what the hell...

I heard that once you lock the 3rd ball, you have have to wait 20 minutes for Michael to return from Sicily before Revenge Multiball will start.

#27 1 year ago

I'm not as appalled by this proposed theme idea as many are. You've got 3 movies to grab stuff from, it's really not that hard to come up with ideas for modes and such with so much material.

I agree with previous poster who said this would most certainly be played straight...doubtful licensor would go for a "comedic" approach to such hallowed material.

It could be pulled off. I really don't see why not.

"They pull me back in" would have to be the ball save quote.

I should have specified the sarcasm. But you’re spot on at what I was hitting at. Will need to rethink the game so it doesn’t feel like a rehash.

It's getting harder to be creative without copying something already done. Ya gotta find a way to be unique.

The guys in Chicago said they talked to Eric and Godfather is codename for Father of the Bride.

Not trolling at all, totally serious, if history is any guide (Wonka) we already know what the translite is going to look like:

Godfather Slot (resized).pngGodfather Slot (resized).png

There's clearly an established license market for movie properties like this. You pay in, you get the package of assets. Pinball, slot machine, it's all the same to them. Commercial gaming license, pay up, get the likeness.

#37 1 year ago

My most reliable sources tell me Godfather is codename for this 2010 masterpiece. We can only hope this rumor is true.

Could this be the first Hip Hop/ Rap pinball

Watching someone else play slots is really depressing

But I agree, that's probably a good guess as to what sort of assets would be in the pin.

LMAO it isn't.

Theme could be cool. It doesn't do too much for me. I'm excited to see it. Love Eric's games. I expect to be more impressed by it than toy story 4 thats for sure.

#44 1 year ago

I might buy it just to listen to that Nino Rota score. Love it.

#45 1 year ago

I've tried 100 times to sit through The Godfather. It's like Ambien puts me right to sleep.

#46 1 year ago

I'm mostly curious if this is going to be trying to retell the Godfather story, or if it's a more generic mafia game.

EA made an ok Godfather game years ago that was mostly about taking over turf and expanding a criminal enterprise. So buying properties, putting in your crew, paying bribes, paying for upgrades, defending it, etc. I think it'd be sorta neat if you were trying to "take over" the playfield.
