Hi,
Sorry for this new topic, but I don’t understand something…
For my Getaway, I want to buy new blank eprom, but I saw a lot of different references and I don’t know what I need…
What are the differences between all these eprom ?

Size and speed are the main things. The size should match the size of the ROM image you plan to burn onto it.

The game ROM used in Getaway is a 4Mbit (512k) 27C4001 or 27C040 EPROM, ipdb has all revisions up to L5 as well as the two prototype revisions.

Ok thanks a lot
And for the programmer, which one is the best ?

For programming modern eproms such as those used in WPC games, a TL866 or a clone is very good.

Some newer versions of TL866 are not able to program old 21V chips from the early '80s but you can replace an old 2716 with an electrically erasable version 2816, that the TL866 can handle.

If you plan to reuse old eproms, then you also need a UV erasing lamp.

Ok thanks for all
And how to know if the game is a 4Mbit or not ?
And for the system 11 what type of rom I need to buy?

You need to check the size of ROM file:

For WPC EPROM's:

1024 kB is 8 megabits (1024kx8): 27c801 (latest games)
512 kB is 4 megabits (512kx8): 27c040 (most often for WPC), also 27c4001
256 kB is 2 megabits (256kx8): 27c020 (early DMD games)
128 kB is 1 megabits (128kx8): 27c010 (alphanumeric WPC)

For older games or System 11:

64 kB is 512 kb: 27(c)512
32 kB is 256 kb: 27(c)256
16 kB is 128 kb: 27(c)128

and so on.
