For the most part, one of the best things about this hobby is the great artwork on the games, but every once in a while, somehow, some really bad art makes it onto a game and into production, and unfortunately it's there for good, (except on translights). I'm thinking mostly of badly drawn characters, but anything is fair game.

I've got 3 that I think are particularly bad, the likeness of Yvonne DeCarlo as Lily Munster, the drawing of Keira Knightley on the cabinet of POTC, and by far the worst, the girl on the backglass of WPT, gives me the creeps every time I see it!!

Angus’s face is a pretty accurate depiction of the album cover. You can’t blame the pinball artist for that one.

SO MUCH POTENTIAL too.

If only they would have given the artist 20 minutes to complete the art instead of just 15, imagine how much more could have been accomplished.

In my original post, I forgot the horrible job on Marilyn on The Munsters, her neck is just weird!

I'm going to take flack for this but I find the art on Flash so bad that I'd never even consider owning one.

I'm not gonna give you flack on that one, hahaha. I agree.

Quoted from Pinball-is-great:

Backglass and playfield artwork on Student Prince and Gay 90's machines from Williams 1968 & 1970.

Compositions are a little sparse, but I still love both. Beautiful geometric style, inspired color palettes. Actual art, not just glorified marketing material. I'd take either over 90% of pinball art from the last 20 years.

The terrible art on Flash is one of the main reasons I used it for my re-theme project.

I don't see any problem with this. The show is ugly, but you can't blame the artist for drawing ugly characters if they need to look like they do in the show. Besides the creepy faces, it looks like a good translite to me.

#27 4 years ago

I like Genesis' translite. Its cheesy fun. Hot Shots though... That one is just a bit pervy and I think crosses the line from cheesy pinup to just really dirty pervy old man. Its just not a good layout and just BAD!!!! Unlike Bad Girls... Which is so bad its good!

I'm always looking for the devil on pinball machines, stopped counting at 20. A lot of times it looks like they just decided to slip slew foot in, other times its a predominate feature. Bally has the most(I think).

For me the biggest fail, but in a most glorious way is Cyclopes! I mean... WOW... To me the art is a junior high maybe high school level artist, who is just entering puberty and realized how much he likes BUTTS!

Just really bad... But, then again in such a GOOD way! I like sex appeal in my pins, and if you look at my collection, you'll see a certain theme. But, man... That's just a bit too on the nose.

Whose looking at his head... I think that might have been the artists problem. He spent his time on the other things... Like all the gizmos and gadgets and controls in the foreground.
Lots of detail in that pin... But, yeah... a bit wonky.
