Here's a crazy thought. If Experts of Dangerous continues to be developed full bore, could it hit the market place in numbers, before Predator? Skit-B has been holding their Predator cards close to the vest so nobody really knows what is going on with it. The one thing they have been clear on is their plans to build it out of their kitchen. Realizing how big a deal this is, maybe Kevin should consider contracting out the manufacturing of EOD.
This would allow him to focus his time spent on EOD designing it, with a goal of building a few sample games by July. Three months of onsite testing would last through Expo in October. Design revisions to be incorporated through the end of 2015 and start of production by Jan 2016. How feasible is this timeline? Back Alley has been busy making toys and at least one batch of playfields have been run. Reading this back it sounds highly optimistic, but possible.
I'd consider any Predators being built now by SkitB to be a test game, even of they are intended for end customers. There have been numerous playfield adjustments, changes to artwork, lighting etc that another release of a few of these games should be required before production heats up. Let's presume six Predators are made and delivered by August. Three to home buyers and the remaining ones for location testing and to be sent to big shows. Comments roll in through end of November and a production model is ready Jan 2016. The same timeframe as EOD. Could they be further along than we think? It is doubtful, but possible - nobody knows much about it.
Some posters have calculated it may take two years for the entire Predator run to be built - so 2016 through 2017. EOD might start out 2016 and if made by real manufacturer, could be completely run by end of 2016. Oh dear, the slowdown in information about Predator has allowed my idle mind to wander.
