The Energizer batteries in my STTNG were installed in 2015 and still going strong; I don't plan on replacing them until I get the reset to factory defaults message.

You may be thinking Lithium's work like alkaline, they do not; once all the energy is drained from the battery are is no active materials left to cause a leak.
