Regarding YOUR personal taste, that will emerge, after playing many, and also evolve and change over time. Keep doing what you're doing, putting time on these old gems. You might find a feature you really like (zipper flippers, roto targets, back box animation, or spinners), or a designer (sounds like you fancy Ted Zale, and Wayne Neyens designed all those Woodies you mention) or even an artist you fancy. And if you look around long enough, you might find a confluence of all these things. Enjoy the exploration and discovery!
