Quoted from BudManPinFan:My two cents, the unskilled labor force who refuse to reenter the workforce because they believe they can enjoy a higher standard of living by forcing businesses to increase their wages are wrong. When the cost of everything adjusts up because of increased labor costs and increased demand for goods and services, these people are going to find they can’t live any better or afford any more at $30/hour than when they were making $15/hour. The costs of basic necessities like food/rent/utilities/healthcare will raise significantly and the cost of luxury items will skyrocket. This is already starting to happen. The idea that they can ‘ransom’ corporate America to lift them up into a higher standard of living is flawed. Unless they are trained or skilled in a profession that the average person off the street can’t do, they will always end up making less and being in the lower half.
Right, because no one is going to eat that cost of labor increase.. That increase has to come from somewhere.
