I did not purchase the Centigrade 37 last Saturday (8hr trip each way) because its condition had been misrepresented by the seller. I learnt that during a party in 1996, in the absence of a coin door, a partygoer had put his head in the coin door opening and another attendee had decided to hose him down! Since then the machine had not operated-significant rust in the backbox and the motor board but surprisingly the under playfield was pristine. The cabinet was in poor condition and the typical C37 red colour backglass flaking was evident. Over the wiring harness adjacent to the score motor a rat carcass was dangling. Unperturbed the seller indicated its ok 'they don't eat old wires only new ones'! He then went on to say this is a banana plantation & that when we are on the ladder cutting down a bundle of bananas and feel a riggle on the shoulder 'it is either a rat or a carpet snake'! So I guess that is meant to mean 'rat in an em-whats the problem?' Consequently however I did not buy the machine.
I am however negotiating the purchase of another C37 which hjas just become available.
Getting back to the thread the availability of EMs in Australia is very limited. When I look for example on US ebay I marvel of what is available. So I would like to review the issues & costs involved in importing a machine/s.
