I'd like to learn more about how EMs work and how to repair them. What are your favorite sources for theory of operation of these games, how to read the schematics and relate what is on there to physical stuff in the machines, etc? I know about Pinwiki. Any recommended videos or such that focus on theory and then show how that is implemented in a game?

For books about EM pinball operation theory, get a copy of Pinball Machine Maintenance by Henk De Jager.

Gottlieb also published a booklet on how their pins work as well as troubleshooting & repairs. Pinball resource sells them. Protected by copyright.
